Art 8
Half Portrait using Mira
A Mira is my personal favorite tool to use in my art room. It is a red piece of plastic that reflects a drawn image from one side to the other. It's intended to be used in a math classroom to reflect line segments across the X or Y axis, but it works in any classroom! It is pure magic! The students love it, they have fun working with them, it builds their confidence in drawing and makes me a happy art teacher.
* Mira-Red reflective piece of plastic
* The MacArthur M and a vertical axis to reflect over
* The Mira is placed on the axis
* You can not see the reflection from the right side
* You can see the reflection from the left side.. reflection will "appear" to be on the right side of the axis
* As you look through the left side of the Mira, draw the reflection with a pencil on the right side
