Art I: Birds Eye View
The Art of Perspective link --> http://www.webexhibits.org/sciartperspective/raphaelperspective1.html
The use of perspective allows an artist to create the illusion of space (three dimensions) on a flat (two dimensional) surface.
We are creating a cityscape from a little different "perspective". Very rarely do we see a city from this point of view, but it is interesting isn't it?! Maybe we should take a field trip via airplane, go parachuting. or take a ride in a hot air balloon. All of these scenarios would lend us the first hand opportunity to see such a view. For now... we will IMAGINE.

Art 8 Rotation: Faces or Vases
This is a play on positive and negative space, our lesson this week. Positive space is the subject of the art. The negative space is everything around the negative space. BUT, if there are two possible subjects, what's the positive and what's the negative?!
Our "faces or vases" illusion is going to be more personal. We are using our very own profiles! We can't wait to share the finished products with you.

Progress...
We took our own profile shots to cut out, trace and use to create this illusion!
Art 7/8:
There are two types of drawing. Observation and Imagination. Drawing form observation is drawing anything while looking at it. This is a skill we will tackle by drawing from home interior magazines! Choosing an image, we will cut it in half. We will draw the half we cut away to finish the photo. How well do you think we can draw from observation?
Art 7: DMJHS Mural
We are currently working on creating a Mural for the DMJHS Vision Statement!
