Students will write one word in each square of the cube template before cutting it out and folding it into a form.
A cube has 6 sides...
1. Person/celebrity/etc.
2. Place/setting/destination
3. Thing/object
4. Activity/hobby
5. Random word
6. Mood/emotion

After writing words on each side of the cube and folding and pasting it together, students will form groups of 3. In their groups they will roll their paper cubes like dice. When a paper cube lands on a word the students begin to write about that word. Each student rolls 6 times so that every word is used once. One word can not be used twice. In the end, each student should have created a story, "mad-lib", with 18 words from the paper cubes. After completing the story each student illustrates their own story/Mad-Lib. These turn out to be quite crazy and usually very hilarious! It is a fun way to introduce 3-D forms and get a little creative writing in as well.
